Need some white fog light bulbs!
Spent he best part of 45 mins f@nnying around getting the fogs out, swapping bulbs and putting back to find that they were sh!t!!!
So what do you guys have in yours to get rid of the old style bulbs and bring it more up to date?

I bought a set of white 6000k led fog light bulbs of ebay to match the HID's i'v already got fitted.
Spent he best part of 45 mins f@nnying around getting the fogs out, swapping bulbs and putting back to find that they were sh!t!!!
So what do you guys have in yours to get rid of the old style bulbs and bring it more up to date?
When I did mine before I just bought some random £5 a pair ones off the old bay of E and was more than happy with them. (Sorry if that's not actually much help!)

ad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. ad:Ideally you want HIDs, but you will be looking at £30-40.

13-06-2018, 10:22 AM #3I've tried several types of 'HID Match' bulbs and none come close to being even white, let alone the tint of blue that my 6000Ks have. I've got LED's in my fogs and they are a perfect match, however I just use them as DRLs not fogs because the light output is so poor.
My fogs are the newer ones with sealed H3 bulbs, which look difficult to fit HIDs to, otherwise thats what I would have done if they were the older style.

Get some JDM yellow bulbs :biggrin:

Dont want to fit HID's into the fogs think it a bit over kill for something ill use 2-3 times a year, but would like the whole white look from my lights.
Looks like i may have to get some XENON type bulbs after all!
I love the HID's in my main beams, ok they need to warm up but its only a few sec's!

The problem is that with the H3 style, the wires go through a sealed connector on the side of the foglight unit. You can't use the existing wires because they are far too thin to take an HID start up voltage. So you'd have to cut the wires on the HIDs, poke them through, then re attach them inside the housing. Which would make changing the bulb a pain, and you'd have to make 100% sure they were sealed again or you'd get the same corrosion problem as the earlier ones.
However the 9006 type would be doddle to fit, just like the main/dipped ones.
And on that note, I have HID main beams fitted. First time you use them take about 10 seconds to reach full temp. Then everytime after that is almost instant. I've only got 35W in both main and dipped but the light output is fantastic! To the level where I'm nearly dazzling myself when driving past a shiny new reflective motorway sign near my house :p

Phil01 I found them terrible in my old 200, took ages to warm up and did not really find them any brighter or had any greater projection than some 100watt main beams.

Except 100watt bulbs are not road legal Phil. HIDs are.
