morning guys, just wondering how easy it is to swap my auto box for a manual box in my is200,i work at a car breakers and we have just had one come in and i can have whatever bits i need to do the swap.

I am assuming it will be something along the lines of;

Flywheel,
Clutch,
Gearbox,
Propshaft,
Pedal box/Clutch Master.
Some wiring/ECU ?,
Gearstick/Interior trim.

What about the diff ratios ? Will that be different too !? And I notice the speedometer is different but will the manual one just swap ?

I am hoping one of you may have already completed this swap and could just give a little guidance before we jump in and find all sorts of problems !!

Thanks in advance.

Erm its quite a bit of work.

youve listed most of the right parts, but then the ecu is linked with the key i think so youll need to sort that out. the diff shouldnt be a problem no.

As Stav says, a lot of work! Never heard of it ever being done, although someone might have.

Personally I'd sell the auto and buy a manual. Unless the car holds sentimental value? That way you could get a Sport too!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Smile See, I'd consider an IS300 if I could get it as a manual - I'm just not a fan of automatics Big Grin

IS200 Sport - Sold
Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications
Completed:

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

i dont mind hard work lol,the key is not a problem as ive just installed a clifford alarm and remote start i took the chip out and put in the dash so all ive got too do is change that over. I was thinking off selling it and getting a manual but because it was a cat d car i dont know if i would get much for it but i will check and ive put in the clifford and started the hifi install in it, iam now in the mix of stripping the car as the car that came in the yard had black interior where mine is cream so i will so iam swapping that over, iam stripping the car at work now so if and when i do i will post some pics up,

my friend just stripped his whole car to a bare shell to change the loom and autobox for manual ones, so he has a good idea of the work involved but still is not afraid lol.
