panasonic and pioneer share the same plasma panel and components.

the Kuro is widely regarded as the best TVout there and the panasonics a close second..

the point is that the pioneer and panasonic share the same components.. hence affirming the quality of the panasonic.. so well worth discussing..

steviewevie I don't think plasma TVs have suffered from screen burn for quite a while now.

Nope it's definitely still there, one of our plasmas is only a few years old and watching a channel with a logo on it does leave it on the screen for a while - I'm sure if you watched it for a long time it might leave it there permanently.

If we're talking plasma then Pioneer really do hold the edge, look at a Pioneer next to a Panasonic and the difference is surprisingly clear - not sure about whether the internals are the same, but the Pioneer definitely has the superior image processing.

However, as mentioned above neither of these are in the required price range so not really of much importance. Again the sort of LCDs that can get to plasma quality images are also out of the price range so I'll just shut up now Smile

Marsdendean I thought sony used to be rubbish at making TV's??

After making arguably the best CRTs they did go through a rough patch when the new tech of plasma and LCD came out - but now they've come good again and imo they do now make the best LCDs

DJ Wozza I have been quite suprised how many have had issues over the last year, for a company with their reputation especially. I mean it would
be just like Lexus putting out some sort of Diesel with reliability/fuelling isses
Confusedhock:

Never happen:thumbdown:
