It doesnt work if you dont have power! the solenoids that lock the doors wont work to unlock the door! :bored:

I haven't tried disconnecting the battery (I hate it when I have to put all the settings back into my head unit !), but there's no solenoid/motor noise when I push that black/red button to manually unlock a door, I'm pretty sure that's just a cable operating the lock. At least that's how it seems on my car ?

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

rubbish! - moving the small locking knob by the door handle is a mechanical action, no solenoids involved.

Marsdendean Ill try mine when i go for fuel.

Ill sit in the car, press it once and see if i can open any doors, and then press it twice!!!

why on earth would anyone press the key fob whilst they are in the car????

it appears people are confusing this topic by talking about 2 completly different actions.

1. being in the car and then using the key fob to lock the doors -which doesnt make any sense at all

2. using the interior central locking button and thn trying to open the door without unlocking the door first, which again doesnt make any sense... you wouldnt try to open your house door without unlocking it would you....

In reference to point 1, this is just a test (which I again forgot to do today) just to see how the deadlocks behave - in normal use I can't imagine anyone actually doing that

Not sure about point 2 though, I agree with you that if you've just locked the doors with the interior lock button, they will just unlock again if you slide the lock the other way - I've actually tried that before when I've had the battery disconnected.

i know how to do that :w00t: but its not cheap its about £100 quid and requires a little bit of hunting around for a few wires like the VSS wire

butwill allow you to set the speed to lock the doors and unlock the doors either at ignition off or under a certain speed if memory serves
