ormi they did change the bulbs older ones used hb4 then they changed them

the newer ones ran h3's

Yeap and the later ones also had a plastic cap behind the bulb to prevent them from corroding. I cut the wires and soldered and covered with heat shrink when I replaced mine.

2tongues Correct me if I am wrong, I think Landrovers have a breather hole + rubber tube on the top of their fog lights do they not? This would allow the water that does get in through the seals to escape in the form of steam through the rubber hose as the lamp heats up the unwanted water???

Would this be a viable option to solve the IS200's fogs misting up?

Now you mention it I think the newer ones do have a breather tube to allow moisture to evaporate.

But half the problem was the salt water splashing up in winter would corrode the aluminium from the outside, so breather tubes and plastic caps won't help that.

sprinter2012 plastic caps won't help that.

Surely a plastic cap covering the back of the fog light would help?

Has anyone got a picture of the protective plastic cap on the back? I don't seem to have that! Would explain why I have to keep replacing them.

It's only the post 2003 ones that have the cap, the early ones don't.

Nice one Shahz. I've just got a new set of fogs and I really don't want the same thing to be happening! Otherwise i'm gonna be tempted to do a fog light delete!!!😁

Ahh ok that explains it then. And the cap obviously won't fit the pre 2003 fogs as they revised them.

I'll try and get hold of a set of post 2003 fogs (dark) and get them fitted.

Thanks for all the replies, this forum is really active. Some of the others you can wait days for a response if at all!
