Ok i'v had the brake mod for a while now and got hold of a set of bulb holders to do the tail light mod, well did this today all works well till i run the car and i get and engine management light and the TRC light flashes when i rev the car?

I'v un-pluged the tail light mod and all's well again.

I wired the tail lights in the fogs to the number plate lights so i didnt have to run a long wire from the light cluster, i think i got the two green wires mixed up!

Any help would be great.
Martin.

Maybe that's the issue wiring them to the number plate lights if you follow the walkthrough its not really a lot of wire and very simple and you won't have the error.

IMHO if the walkthrough works then use it as this is when issue can arise

Why i got the wires mixed up, coz im a n00b lol.BlushBlush

I think that mixing the wires up sent power back through the fog lamps/bulbs giving the ecu a hard time.

Pic's time.....
Ok so i bought a set of fogs off ebay so i didnt have to chop my origs up.
But when they landed they looked like a$$.

[Image: 423812_10150501492206712_575506711_89034...6522_n.jpg]

So i had to wet n dry sand them to get the scratches out then polish them with my rotary polisher, add ended up with these

[Image: 396622_10150501492746712_575506711_89034...9829_n.jpg]

[Image: 428867_10150501492606712_575506711_89034...0769_n.jpg]

So the stock fogs have to be modded to get the tail/brake light bulb holder to fit, you just have to mill out a small section to get them to fit.

Standard fog.

[Image: 419229_10150501492456712_575506711_89034...1570_n.jpg]

Modded fog.

[Image: 409114_10150501492296712_575506711_89034...9672_n.jpg]

I used a burring bit in a Dremel, this left bits of milled plastic in-side the fogs so i gave them a wash out with soapy water and sat them on a radiator in the house.

I all ready had the brake light mod done so no need to run wires for that just a feed from the number plate blub live to run he fog tail light.

[Image: 421808_10150501492961712_575506711_89035...9609_n.jpg]

This was just temp to make sure all worked, i later used bullet/spade connectors to finish the job right.

Finished.

Agree you just mod the bulb holder and saves modding the light cover

Maybe you should have done a walkthrough on how to clean up your lenses as mine could do with that treatment

My original fogs that i took out need a polish but not too sure if they need wet sanding!
If they do ill do a walk trough for it.

Marsdendean You dont have to mod the fog light, you have to mod the holder.

I cut a 2 small lugs of mine with a stanley . . . . .

I didnt want to cut the holders as they were the only set i had, but if i cocked up the fogs i had a spare set.

If there was a walk through showing were the cuts were made on the holders then i would have done that, but i had no idea where or how much to cut off and didnt want to have to glue them in if it went t!ts up lol.
