P.Lindblom That seems like a bargain! I'm looking forward to following this project.

Yes mate, its turned out to be quite a good buy so far? the whole car seems very solid, with just a few basic bits that need sorting out :thumbup1:

Gave it a bit more of a clean today, also gave it new oil and filter, new plugs and air filter? Still waiting for the window mechanism to arrive so i can sort that out :Chair: Sorted the headrest speakers out so they now work  not really much to do on it at the moment, which has quite surprised me for a 22yr old car

Looking cleaner? front bumper is going to be resprayed soon?

Hopefully going for its MOT on Friday, so will see if it needs anything sorting?

Bandit Bought the whole window set up mate, so i dont have to play with the cables  so just have to remove the old and put in the new? :thumbup1:

Makes it a little easier, but still a pig of a job.

I presume you have checked out http://www.mx5parts.co.uk?

Very handy site Smile

Well just swapped the window mechanism for the new one and found it pretty easy to do, took me about 40mins in total and that was with greasing the runners and lubricating the cables  and works fine, so pretty happy with that

Next little job on my list is to get rid of the **** door mirrors? found a company just up the road from me on ebay that has them, so hopefully get them tomorrow and get them fitted? and then next week get it in for its MOT :thumbup1:

Yeh its looking better mate, still need to give it a proper polish, claying etc, as all i've used so far is the paint cleaner i got from the meguiars meet for 50p a bottle :w00t::w00t: front and rear bumpers need sorting out, but there pretty easy to do Confusedmoke: hopefully it passes its MOT and it'll then be used like it should :whistling::thumbup:

Sounds like its coming along nicely, good luck on the MOT. It looks to be a fairly well looked after motor should fingers crossed for you. Mine had no MOT when I brought, replaced the wipers and it went straight through, no advisories.

Another Mazda 'Classic Heinz Pink' to 'Classic Red' conversion - apart from Royal Mail vans and red Vauxhall Corsas Ithere aren't many worse than Mazdas for turning from red into 57 shades of pink... Wink

Billy bleedin' bargain at £500, especially if it's as solid as it looks. Looks very clean - when was she imported?

MX5Nutz.com is the place to ask questions to non pipe&slippers age owners if you've not found it already.

Before you fit the new mirrors, replace the bolt/spring in them (autolink sell the bits) as they're forever rotting out and falling off. The convex glass (eBay seller, about 7 quid a side) is well worth the money too.

Are you going to move the rear fog into one of the reversing lights? (red bulb/tint)

Fill the bumper holes when you get it sprayed and low-mount the front plate? (yours is import - so bike size plate)
http://www.cosic.org.uk/MarkoStuff/5/Misc/loplate.JPG

A pukka 4-wheel alignment (ask rodders over on MX5Nutz) is worth the money. 1800 brakes from a 1800 mk1 or any Mk2 don't go amiss either. (discs/caliper carriers/pads) Rear the book on rear calipers before touching the brakes. If you attack the rear calipers with a G-clamp or normal wind-in tool you'll ruin them. Wink
