Advice needed from people with TRD skirts...
The TRD Skirts have 3 or 4 lugs/tabs along the bottom which are supposed to bolt up under the sills of the car. I watched them being removed from the Altezza they used to be on, and there were some plastic inserts which popped up into holes in the sills, which you could then screw into.
Now I have discovered after my test fit, that the underside of the sills on my car appear to have been weatherproofed or stone chip proofed or something. Because the whole length of the sill is full of what appears to be some sort of rubbery silicone substance. Meaning the bottom of the skirts tries to push away from the bottom of the sill as it can't go up into the recess.
Is this weatherproofing something that all UK models had, or did the previous owner get it done do you think?
Looks like the only solution is going to be to cut off all the tabs so the skirts can sit flush with the car? As none of you guys seems to use the lugs anyway, it's only the bolts at each end and some double sided tape which seem to get used.

Did it affect how the skirts fit? Or do your ones not have fixings underneath?

Good stuff, no one ever uses the fixings underneath anyway so I'll just chop them off and fit them like yours are. I'm really tempted to carbon skin the skirts now, but I just don't have the time.

If so, just hold them in place to see where they are supposed to be attached. Then with a screwdriver, poke the layer of rust proofing around the areas where the screws should be. There are four holes under each sill and when you poke the proofing on top of them it will bulge inwards. If you want to use these underside fittings you just cut away som of the proofing on and around the holes. The plastic fittings just clips into place, then you can screw your side skirts to them.
If you didn't get the plastic bits, just do what the other guys suggested
