Only just seen this post (been abroad) or I would run out to my car with a tape measure now!

Though, much like the brake and gear cables on a bike, the precise length shouldn't matter, so long as the range of movement it correct.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

This.

But although if it was too short, it'd be pulling on the cable too quickly, and would be closing the bypass too quick, but in effect a cable like that can never be too long, even if it was 2 metres long, there would be no slack and it'd pull it exactly the same as if it was 123cm long.
But if it was 100cm long rather than 123cm, it would be too tight and would close the bypass too much when not needed

If it was too short it would have to be routed over the engine instead of around (not a good idea) but if the throttle body pulls the cable Xmm then the other end will pull the bypass valve Xmm as there is no play in the cable. Anything close to 120cm should be perfectly fine.

My bypass currently does not work at all!

I think what happened was I made the cable too short, full boost came on too soon and the ECU **** itself.

Hence why I wanted to get the correct length so I didn't have to just keep guessing until it was right.

Stix44 Is it going spare Bandit?

Yes mate, the cable itself isn't usable as its the one that was fitted when i had the engine bay fire? so the outer cover melted and the inner cable only just about moves, but the fittings on each end are still usable if you wanted to make a spare cable up :thumbup1:
