An autoelectrician is on his way out...

He didnt sound to confident when I told him what was happening. Fingers crossed..

Not a great start to Lexus ownership for me, maybe I should have stayed with german engineering.

when the alarm isnt going off is the light on the dash flashing rapidly slowly or anything?

does the alarm only trigger when you open one door or all off them ?

It seems that another website has taken a thread I started some time ago and made a guide out of it. May be of use to you though (the guide that is, that website is otherwise useless!)

KEY PROGRAMMING GUIDE

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Cheers guys..

The auto electrician reset the key for me. He was hear about an hour, disconnected the battery, got his laptop out etc etc..cost me £55

Hopefully now it will be all sorted but iv got a horrible feeling this may crop up again and be a deeper fault..

Hmm sounds like not a bad cost for reprogramming if the ecu itself had forgotten the keys for some reason.

If you search online you can get the reprogram instructions but my old is200 sport used to do this would work for months the just stop working I used to change the battery hold the key to my head all the old wife's tales but it would still do it I kept thinking it was some sort of radio interference. Don't forget the light still works when the battery is low it's a easy thing to change and try plus the reprogram combo is defo worth trying.

Most of the instructions in a search lead back here as most of the different ways to do it are on this forum
