Make sure its to WIM spec and not Lexus - may as well have a better car when it returns.

It's almost nice to see a picture like that and then find out that the ba$tard that did it DIDN'T just drive off !!!!
I had a lorry driver hit my works van with his rear bumper bar once. It happened in an industrial estate. I was on the side of the road and he was turning right to go into a parking area. It happened while I was sitting in the van with the handbrake on and engine off....... And he denied all knowledge about the 6" gouge in my vans rear quarter.

In the end I had to call the local police because the quite intimidating lorry driver kept getting right in my face and saying "It's nothing to do with me, I never touched it" (Despite there being quite a large amount of my vans white paint scuffed onto the side of his rear bumper bar !!!).

When plod arrived the driver changed his story and said I'd moved out as he was going around the corner. Plod looked at where the damage was on my van (at the back of the rear wheel arch) and came to the only possible conclusion as to what had happened. He said to the driver something along the lines of "I haven't started writing anything down yet, But as I've been called here I DO have to fill out a report. I'm going to ask you what's happened again, But this time I'm going to first point out that lying to a police officer is quite a serious offence, One that can result in prison time. So, In your own words, What happened.......? And this time your explanation of events better be consistent with the damage I can see". With this the driver said that "There was a slight possibility that he might have misjudged the clearance he had with the Lorry's back end". Huh

When the insurance company came to their decision about the claim it was put the down as 100% his fault.

I was bl00dy happy the policeman hung around till after we'd exchange insurance details and I'd left though. I got the distinct feeling that if he'd gone, the lorry driver might have just "Insisted" that I returned the piece of paper he'd given me with his details on it and I would have been encouraged to forget that the misunderstanding had ever happened (Me? Scared? Naaaaaa..... And my decision to give him our Newcastle main head offices address rather than the one for the local depot I work out of had nothing to do with his bad attitude and "Rugby player on steroids" physique !!!! ConfusedcaredSmile.

Good to hear that at least no one seems to be contesting who did what and who's fault it all was in your case. Hope that when you get your car back it's all good as new.
