It's been a while since I was on here, so I thought I'd give you all a nice update Big Grin

I finally got round to getting the rear windows tinted
[Image: 7a110028.jpg]

Looks darker in the flesh, and has made a big difference to the mood inside!

I've also fitted my new head unit. It's a pioneer Bluetooth jobbie, with loads of cool features. I still need to sort out how it sits in the dash (flops a bit), but overall I'm a happy bunny!

-------------

Bad news.... RUST. I ****ing hate rust. I had a little spot in the engine bay, behind the power steering reservoir for a while, and it grew.
I didn't realise how much it grew until I started to do some prodding with my trusty screw driver.
Half an hour later, and I have a fist sized hole on the strut mount, and two smaller holes on the front of the inner arch.
To say I'm not happy is an understatement. This will not beat me though, as I shall employ a genius welder / fabricator / restorer to fix the issue, and get her back to former glory!

The main hole:

The front of the arch:

The other side looks OK, but I'll get it checked all the same:

This has now been welded up, and should be stronger than it was from the factory! It's not pretty (yet), but it's safe!

--------------

Ok, so I now officially love Meguiars Ultimate Compound!

And the finished (and polished) items;

These are now the shineyest part of the car!

--------------

A couple of weeks ago, I popped over to Grove Garage in Brighton to have my new exhaust fitted!
It's a full cat back stainless system, and sounds really nice! I have notices a bit of extra zoom zoom as well Big Grin
This is just the tip, but I have some more pics of underneath. I'll get these up at some point Wink
[Image: 1f27ba56.jpg]

I've also fitted my new rear strut brace. Nice easy job, and finished in about half an hour
[Image: e76f7421.jpg]

I also got round to fitting my new engine mount. The old one was shot, and fell apart in my hands :o
Old nastiness:

Side by side:

The new one is the billet aluminium one from Street Unit. I did originally order the AWR one, but they were out of stock, so they let me have this one at the same price!

--------------

This has also recently arrived! Took a bit of time to mount it, as I need to make a hole for one of the sensors, but dear god it sounds nice!
Me thinks I'm going to have to keep an eye on the fuel gauge to keep my foot off the throttle!

I also have a stainless header to fit, but need to block off the EGR valve first Wink

I hope you all enjoy, and there should be some more coming soon!

Wheels need to be anthracite!

I didn’t think these were old enough to rust that bad!

I was genuinely shocked by the pics!

That's just the start of it! There are some on 53 plates that are worse. It seems like Mazda didn't give a **** about the finish, although the design is awesome!

The warranty is 15 years IIRC.

Red and Anthracite is always a winner!
