01-01-2020, 11:58 AM #34cheers guys, i admit theres alot to get through and thats about 18months worth of a thread...... and thats without the main info on the engine trouble and trouble with the ex-engine "tuner" but im not allowed to mention that as he says it will damge his reputation :whistling:

Ah yes, it seems every person who's done serious engine work has one of them stories. Makes it obvious why people are going back to doing everything themselves and why tuners go bust.

Yep, altho i bet its fairly rare to hear of a motor going back for a refresh, only for the "tuner" to remove £1000 worth of upgraded parts and replace them with stock parts :angry:
i found out 2 years later only after setting multiple new PB's due to chassis upgrades, and if it wasnt for me wanting to add a few extra parts to the motor without paying the labour charge......... i probably wouldnt of found out :angry::thumbdown:

2 questions though, what are the pot like things hanging near the nos bottle in some of the stripped pics?
And the brake discs look so weak! Can't believe they wold actually work! (Not doubting they do, just an observation more than anything)

The 2 pots in question, 1 is a remote gas cylinder for the rear shocks compression damping, and the other is a screw type hydraulic preload adjuster. a better pic can be seen here

And yes, beleive me the brakes work :lol: on my mates supersport600 race bike his datalogger recorded nearly -1G under hard braking on stock brakes with just upgraded pads and braided hoses!!!
