Finally finished the thumb brake, not come out too bad for a first try, just ordered a 2mtr brake line from Venhill today so should have that by the end of nxt week so i will b able to bleed it up and try it out Smile also found a small rear resivour that i managed to hide away just under the top yoke, so its all nice and compact

Spent a few hours today in the shed, got the motor out, fitted the shallow sump, and put it on the bench just for a quick checkup of the cam timing, etc. gonna put the dummy motor in on thursday ready to go to Warpspeed for the new exhaust and swingarm, got dads motor to put back in his frame friday, and then ill start on the wiring loom if i get time before it goes off to WSR (if not, ill start stripping the spare motor ready to tune)

Time for an update me thinks, Last week i picked the bike up from Stuart and Dave at Warpspeed Racing. Well................ impressed is an understatement, the new swingarm is a work of art!!! mega braced, 4130 Chromoly steel and extremely high quality!! Im in now way regretful getting rid of my Spondon arm, in fact, im glad i got rid of it, cuz i fecking love this!!!! should have new exhaust and caliper hanger with me some time nxt week, so im told

Did my back in, but still keen to crack on with the build. Sarah my 9 month pregnant wife (shes due next week!) offered to help strip the bike with me.

Painted the arm, repolished the frame, and started assembly, motor is now in, swingarm in, carbon hugger fitted, battery and nitrous bottle in place, not gonna say too much, ill let the pics do the talking. Going to modify the forks 2morrow and then hopefully should have a full rolling bike Smile

Spent yesterday and today shortening and refurbing my forks. Shortened 3", so now has 50mm travel with 20mm sag once bike is on the floor sitting under its own weight, so well happy with that. put together with new seals and Silkolene RSF 5 Pro Race fork oil. Was a right ******* to do at first as i had to make a few little tools to get the internals out, but its done now, so ive got the tools if i wanna get em apart again lol

Will get some pics of the bike as a roller tomorrow Smile

With the sun out today, I managed to get the bike back down on its wheels and get her out in the open to check the stance from a distance, very happy with it now. Finally, i can get a good crouch behind the screen.........and my feet on the floor! makes my 5ft 2" body look tall!! seat hight is now at the same hight as as my knee's Tongue

Not mega progress this week, managed to get the main loom on, airshifter refitted, dash fitted properly and wired, 2 new shiftlights fitted, so had to make a few brackets for them, and picked up a new Regina drag chain at the weekend from Furlong Tyres Smile

Also the nice Mr Postman delivered another peice of unobtainium this week, after months of searching the world, i managed to track down and buy this matching Ex-Phase One Yamaha Marchesini M5 Magnesium rear wheel to match my front, 17 x 5.75" so an idea size, perfect fit on the spindle, just need to trim the spacers down 3mm on sprocket side and 7mm on disk side and it will be the perfect hub size, nice and easy.

I kinda like the gold colour, but i cant afford to have both wheels stripped, crack tested and repainted, so ill just do the rear black to match the front Smile

the subframe only has 2" clearance before it actually hits the hugger as the subframe is bent 20mm to the left, so ive cut the fecker off, ive got some alloy tube on order so i can make better rear section of the subframe. going to kick the tail up a little bit aswell at the rear as once ive had my shock shortened, im gonna lower the bike a bit more, but currently, ive got 2.25" clearance to the shock knuckle, which will do for now so i can get out and test the bike, tail looks a bit too aggressive in the pics, but looks better in reality.

Also removed the carbon chainguard on the hugger and replaced with an alloy one, hopefully this will comply with the rules now lol

Well, after the birth of John Jnr last friday, ive managed to get a few days in here and there to do this subframe. I decided instead of welding it up, i was going to make it a bolt on rear section, incase it ever needs to be replaced. With a bit of help from my mate Ady and his pipe bender, we got the 2 main bits made up. Its proved to be quite strong, managed to hide the horrible cuts to the OE subframe aswell. ive gotta redo some of the plate work, but its getting there, another days work and it should be complete

Spent a lovely day in Norfolk today at WarpSpeed Racing, Just finishing off the exhaust system and making sure it had enough clearance. Also managed to get an idea on how low the bike now is, love it ;D

Back home, get some bodywork on it, and i must admit im starting to get excited now. dribbled some fuel in it and fired it up for the first time since October last year. The exhaust sounds ******* evil !!! Sounds like a turbo bike on idle, and screams like a banshee when ya rev it. Well pleased with it, hopefully wont need to much fueling adjustment to get it bang on
