Well after loads of head scratching on were to mount my twinkle toes when they aint on the floor, i decided i didnt want to go for big bulky rear sets. So thanks to a member on another forum, he machined up these clamps for me, all i needed to do was fit my own pegs to em. must admit, they are well made, and absolutely solid. Even stood on em and bounced up and down on em with my 9 n half stone weight and they didnt twist or slip on the swingarm brace, so im well happy with em. :thum_1:

Started prepping bodywork today, but will post pics up of that lot tomorrow once im finshed 8)

Over the last week ive had my mate Ady over to sort the paint duties out for me while i prepped the fairings, I can paint realy good out of rattle cans, but ive never sprayed out of a gun, so i had ady show me how its done. Hes done an amazing job on the paint. Ive been planning this paintjob for the last 2 years, I wanted to do a modern take on Suzuki's best ever paint scheme and im over the moon with the results!!!

Not bad considering it was sprayed in a 6x3 gazebo and only cost £30 lol

Just need to put the strip on the tank tomorrow once the clearcoat has hardened and thats it complete, other than some more decals and my new fairing bolts from Pro Bolt

Interesting morning at ACR Motorcycle Performance Centre today, Bike only made 130bhp on the dyno, but apart from having some clutch slip at high rpm (no lockup fitted), after reading all 4 cylinders, all 4 carbs are well out of sync, the only one closest to being good is number 2 (the a/f ratio in the graph was from cylinder 2). On another note, i ran with the carbs like this all last year, so if they were right, the bike could have gone quicker still!

Wat was interesting tho, is altho the carbs are all to ****, the new WarpSpeed Racing exhaust system made nearly 20ft/lb of torque more below 6500rpm than any other system ive had on the bike, thats something i realy wasnt expecting to see!.

Gonna get these carbs sorted now, refit the lockup clutch, advance the ignition back up and then hopefully start pulling some power back, will also start playing with the cam timing once all that is done. Garry is confident its still gonna make over 150bhp, just gotta find were the lost power is lol Gonna be a good year of development we think, and the guys at ACR are excited to be helping get this bike down the track, hopefully alot quicker lol

Good day yesterday at pod on the new build. On the first run it became apparent i had shifter problems, not having enough air supply to the shifter, runnin through at an 11.4, i decided t just work on launchs to get the 60ft's right, with a soft, 1.67 launch, and shutting off at the 1/8th i ran though at a 10.7, after some shock tweaks, on the next run, a 1.57 60ft, with a 10.5et, shutting off at the 1/8th again

With limited track time, i tried a final run with a full pass, a 1.54 60ft, with a 10.001 @ 136mph using an "improvised" shifting technique, the run was shite, but it would have been right back in the mid 9's again had the shifter been working.

O well, i suppose thats why they call it testing.

A good solid performance from Adrian Cattell, with a few 10.0's aswell on a stock "unknown" gsxr 1100 motor, and a handful of missed gears, the altinator comming off lol, leaky carbs, and a bent shift rod.

shock of the day was Dad (John snr), 10.1 straight off the trailer, with a PB of 9.8 @ 135 on his 3rd run.

Remember, all these bikes are new builds, unriden untill today, and new chassis (i found it hard adapting to mine if im honest), so with more development, each bike should be well into the mid 9's, a good day all in Big Grin

Spent the day at team sponsors ACR Motorcycle Performance Centre with the 2 1216 gsxr's.

First up was my bike, with the rebuilt carbs, it produced a replocated 130bhp run same as the previous week, then on the shutoff the rear wheel locked up solid on the drum. It turned out to be a sticky rear caliper and it had jammed the rear wheel solid, so with the caliper eventually removed, we tried again. On the next run it produced a promising 140bhp, but still with irratic a/f ratio's between cylinders, we tried balancing the carbs and a few other things but with no improvement, so we decided to take the bike off for a while and put Snr's bike on.

With snr's bike on the dyno and warmed up, we went for the first run which produced a lowly 116bhp. Worried that the dyno may have been at fault, we removed the bike and recalibrated the dyno and tried again. Still the same 116bhp readout, and some more irratic a/f readings

While we left the bike to cool, we tried to understand why we were getting low readings from both bikes, so we got a compression tester out and tested my bike, and it explained all, 50, 65, 110 & 135psi accross the cylinders revealed and unhealthy motor, we put the tester on Snr's no.1 cylinder and that read 60psi so that was enough to determine that both motors need a rebuild.

The promising thing is that both motors were running like this in the later half of last year and still running quick, with Snr running a pb of 9.8 last weekend aswell, so there is alot more to be gained with fresh motors

Hopefully gonna get Ady's bike on the dynp nxt week and see what his stock "unknown history" gsxr 1100 motor is producing, now then.... weres me spanners.........................

Been a busy week, pulled the motor out the bike and got to work stripping it straight away. after removing the block, it became aparent why number 1 cylinder wasnt performing so good. The liner is cracked 3/4 of the way around its bore........thats going in the scrap bin then! not sure how its happened to be honest.

Once into the bottom end tho, everything was in realy good condition, so i checked all the shell clearances which turned out to be spot on. Gearbox was in good nick aswell, itll last another year or so, but ill order up a spare 2nd gear to keep in the parts box

Then started to put the bottom end back together with a few new parts, H/Duty case studs, H/Duty Cam Chain, and Carillo rods, just waiting for pistons, valve springs and a few other bits befre i can finish off the rest of the motor

Made a start on cleaning the head up aswell, was surprised to find the seats were mint on both the valves and ahead, so that has saved me alot of time lapping em in, just cleaned the head up with petrol, cleaned the valves up and done a bit of lapping in, and now just gotta do 2 more cylinders then wait for the new valve springs to arrive then i can put it all back together

Right, quick update, the parts i need are now in the UK but due to lack of finances at the minute, this set back with the engine has cost me dearly and ive decided that i wont get the bike back out on track this year. However, im going to get this motor built up and get it ran in and setup on the dyno and will be back out on track with a brand new bike in 2013.

Regretfully i wish the situation was different and that i would be able to do some testing, get a race licence and race at Extreme Bike Weekend but the decision ive made is one of many that ive got planned including selling the van and a few other bits to try and help me regain some interest in the bike and racing again as at the minute, i have little motivation, and little interest.

I will keep you all updated if there is any progress.

Well i finally decided to get off my **** a few weeks back and start getting this motor built up.

The lovely new shiney new MTC pistons needed a little bit of work on the skirts to get the required piston to bore clearance, once installed i was a little bit smug as all of my careful calculations i did before i ordered any parts actually turned out to be correct!!! Confusedhock:

I managed to get a perfect 0 deck height and with all things combined my calculations were i would have a compression ratio of around 13.5:1, well in fact its closer to 14:1 at 13.9:1, so im happy with that. I didnt want it any higher than 14:1 as im planning on using a bit of nitrous still with this motor, so yeh, im pleased with that

Finished lapping the valves in, fitted new inlet rubbers and matched them to the ports, cleaned the head up and installed the new APE valve springs. Then painted in Gloss Black Enamel

Cams back in on the stock sprockets to check the stock timing, i then changed over to the new APE slotted sprockets and dialed the cams in to new specs, also checked and adjusted all valve clearances were needed.

Ive now decided to run with the MTC slider clutch from the start so that is away at Warpspeed Racing having a bit of machining done on the basket and then the new hub gear riveted on, i may put the motor in the bike tomorrow while its slightly lighter lol. More updates over the weekend
