Hi,

i have plans in the next few weeks to turbo charge my IS200. Im wondering if anyone on here has done this and know much information about it, if anyone has any instructions or tips that would be a life saver.

Also im planning to look at the kit from TurboKits(dot)com has anyone used these or herd anything of it? ill be upgrading to the Garrett T28 turbo. If you guys have any recommendations id greatly love to hear them.

Im hoping someone has first hand experience with step by step turboing thier is200.

Oh also the turbo is a whole kit, the guy from the site said theres no fabrication needed as everything is bolt on, price is around $3200 USD including upgraded turbo from Garrett T25 to Garret T28

id be extremely interested if that kit bolts straight on and the black box is enough to control it.

Personally id go for a modified 1/2jz manifold adapted to a 1gfe flange, make your own pipe work (if not had with some straights and angled silcone). Then use an emanage ultimate or AEM unit as mapping.

The only bit that needs making is the down pipe that any competent exhaust place can do for you.

As for first hand experience, its not cheap, its not simple. But is rewarding when done!

Is this a kit for the is200, or the same kit they sell for the is300. I have a feeling they will send the wrong manifold, and a very cheap turbo. Please check that it is for a UK spec car, as they were never imported into the USA, so they wouldn't have access to the vehicle for fabrication purposes and quite frankly no need to make such a kit as there will be no domestic interest.

I've spoken with one of the guys from the site and fair bit asking question after question. They have good customer support, they say its a kit for the 1g-fe engine so for 6cylinder 2 litre engine. They said the kit comes with everything so

Garrett T25BB Turbo w/ Wastegate
Cast Exhaust Manifold
Downpipe w/ Gasket
Polished Charge Pipe
TSI Blow Off Valve (BOV)
Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator
Heat Shield
Air Intake (Connects to stock Air Box)
TSI High Flow Front-Mount Intercooler
SS Braided Water Lines for Turbo Cooling
SS Braided Oil Line & Fitting
Return Hose and Fittings for Oil to Pan
Map Unit (black Box)
All Hoses & Clamps
All Necessary Hardware & Fittings

I also enquired about changing the turbo to the t28 turbo which was not a problem.
He said no fabrication was needed.

I'm thinking giving it a go and if all goes well after it is setup and later down the track ill swap Internals then get a emanage/haltech and get it tuned and push more power. And change any nessesary parts.

I know of the kit as well and am interested in it as well but heard that the turbo manifold is not a full manifold and only comes with a "half manifold", so i'd love to see the results of this and see some pictures to see if the reviews on other forums is accurate, please let us know how you get on...

Sparkystav What a half manifold?

Its like a full manifold, but with 50% missing.

Only joking, Im not sure - they may possibly mean just from the engine to the turbo, and not the downpipe from the turbo onwards?

surely it cant connect to ur stock airbox as it sits directly on top of the throttle body but u cud use the stock airbox on a is300 so i would just double check again they kno engines are different!
