Engine oil/filters etc is200 turbo
hello the.I hope I am posting thiS in the correct area,I am a newbie to the site so go easy.
Ok I have a 200 turbo.I wanted to know which type of oil filter for my car,as I have a sandwich plate I'm assuming as I have boost, oil guages in the car etc.The reason I ask is that I have been told I may have to use a Toyota Celica oil filter?
Alternatively should I use a HKS oil filter?
What oil should I be using in a turbo car, running around 300bhp,I was told 0w40, I was thinking perhaps a 5w40 or 10w 50 maybe?
Finally where would be the best place to get competative service parts...filters,cambelt kit etc.
Would you use genuine parts or go for motor factor parts?Any suggestions on where to get genuine parts cheap would be a great help or are genuine parts overpriced and go with the motor factor option?
I hope you can help.
Many thanks.Lee.
Welcome mate, get some pics up of the car in the project thread!
As for parts, I'd personally go for genuine Toyota parts, they are normally well priced. For you filter you may have an issue as with a sandwich plate it limits the room, but if a genuine one fits then use that.
For oil I'd use 10 or 5 w/40. I personally use Fuchs Titan xtr.

No dealers are normally good prices mate
Sorry my bad punctuation,
I meant that the Lexus/Toyota dealers are generally good for service item prices. Should of been a comma after the no lol
