hi all, finally got around to writing this one, its going to be a slow slog as I don't have a great amount of time and/or money, just like everyone else hehe Smile picked my motor up about around 6 months ago, and she was pretty to begin with, infact exterior there isn't much im going to change other than tidying (eventually)!! its a jdm import back in 2003 its been pretty well maintained with a full service history, not always been at the stealers but its been done! its the GT version with hardtop finished in my favourite of colours Indy Yellow pearl/rio/spa yellow. So having got her home back in august 14 the first weekend I spent going over her with the polishes etc and this is what she came out like!

so from the exterior shes got a Tegiwa carbon fibre bonnet, oem side skirts, oem ducktail spoiler, lowered on HSD Monopro ap1 coilovers, volk racing fighter wheels staggered adjustable arms front and rear and rose jointed (hard as hell)

the business end is pretty stock jap too (power wise) its got a powdercoated valve cover, standard manifold (as far as I can see) berk hi flow cat (63mm) into a pro spec 3 exhaust, twin exit (its very loud but sounds epic) itg filter in stock gutted housing.

Interior is stock jdm ap1 black leather

First on the agenda was full undersealing, 4 wheel alignment new front tyres, new windscreen sort the shite audio system, upgrade my door cards to ap2 (include tweeters), little bit of rust in the engine bay (3rd pic near radiator stays) on the leading upperbrace, cold air cooling plate some cross bracing!

ok, undersealing I don't have pics was done by a local garage who does the Morgans (STP Motors) its had a full underseal front to back, both front splash guards out, into the front box sections and running down the sills , it was injected through lower grommets, hes put a clear wax in both doors and boot lid, obviously no need for the bonnet!

ive also had it raised slightly has it catches anything, 4 wheel alignment done and taken the camber off the rear wheels, it feels a **** sight more planted now, was very twitchy poo before, don't get me wrong it still loves to step out especially in the wet and its not a noticeable lift which is good Smile More pictures and interior shots to come! next thing for me to address is the interior and speakers which I appreciate in a convertible is never gonna be great! going to crack on with basic wiring this weekend!

I've got condensation in my front passenger light which is real annoying! headlight bought waiting to replace but cant get the front bumper off yet as top bolts have seized also pic 3, so bought a new top brace and bolts will be doing this as soon as poss but in the mean time I've bought some of the fly eye perforated tint stuff, I am not sure I like the look but it takes your eye off it for now!
that's one light done and difference between the two.
both done,
quiet easy to apply with a heat gun and has survived now about a month on the car in our glorious weather.

standard interior, and new door cards from ap2, door tweeter holes already cut (thanks Honda) and a nice little pocket in the bottom to store more **** Smile

Started the wiring today, put 8 gauge power wires in ready for speakers amp combination, ive ran the power cable down the left hand half of the tunnel, rcas and remote down the right hand side tunnel, and speaker wires ill run down the sides of the sills and into my doors, next I gotta find a decent amp speaker set up but im limited to speaker depth, ive also ordered some silent coat sound deadening, I don't want to add to much weight but anythings better than standard!!

anybody any suggestions on decent mid/bass speakers and amp combination, ive looked at both alpine type rs and hertz esk so far, both 6.5" components

Had an absolute mare latter part of this week, had a couple of front tyres put on and have done a compression check, which have all gone swimmingly, however having stripped out all the coil packs I've found that the spark plug wells are full of oil despite having a Honda dealer replace them 3 months ago! I'm not happy!! I've since been back up to Honda and expresses my anger and frustration, shown them the invoice which clearly states my request for the seals to be replaced and asked what exactly is going on!? I've a real hard time using dealers and with the motor trade in general as I find them all (usually) decieving,! I know how it works I used to be a painter in a body shop for 10 years, but I thought give them a chance, get the dealer stamp etc! And look! So I'm dropping the car back in Monday afternoon (which I also hate) and apparently I'll get a courtesy car, let's see what gutless **** they can muster here, it's been done as a warranty repair and won't cost but the inconvenience is annoying, oh and the fact I replaced the plugs a week before it went to them! And they look dodgy too!! Photos to follow!

in all fairness its wrong for me to say the motortrade are all idiots, there are a few decent garages out there, but the bigger ones just make it real difficult to trust others!

New spark plugs less that 2000k miles (3 months)
id hate to say how much single coil packs are! but rest assured if these degrade in the next few months, ill be back down the dealers!!

looking to to the deadening tomorrow but ive also got a dyno day coming up and a small stint in the bodyshop!

There's many brands out there for audio, have you decided what type of audio set up you want though? Are you aiming more for SQ? When you know the type of audio you want then it'll help with your choice. As you said hertz are good as well as alpine. Focal are very good too. I've got some old classic cerwin Vega comps stashed away and never used them. Gonna fit them in a future car maybe lol..
