Has anyone used this quick shift on a IS200? Is it reliable and does it do any noise while changing gears? I have read that some quick shifts make a lot of noise.

Dimis we had a guy trying to fixone onto his car at a meet but even though it was made for a is200 it never fitted.
However some other members have never had a problem.

As for noise i not sure but i sure someone will be along soon with the answer.

Why it did not fit? Did he take it back to the seller? Do you know where to look for a B&M?

The B&M one i have is good, i like it.

it does take some getting used to to select reverse, youve got to use a short sharp push to get it across. but once your use to it its fine.

Gramham goode racing dont know if they sold them all?

Dimis the thread ball that fits the gear box clog was to big to fit.

It could be because the part was mixed up before it was posted to the owner.
But the box said it was the correct part for the car.

As i said i think some one can help with your enquiry better than I

The guys were working pretty hard with that B&M shifter to try and get it fitted at the Ace Cafe. I'm pretty sure they thought it was the right part and would fit, just that it was tricky and they gave up on it in the end.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Okay here's the problem we were having with the B&M on my car. It is the right part, however the nylon cup on the end of the ball/shifter is slightly larger/thicker than the OEM one, this would give it a nice tight fit once fitted I assume. Also, the OEM nylon cup has sightly rounded edges, whether this is by design or wear, however the B&M has a more square edge, hence the nylon cup will not just drop in.

The main problem as Terry and others pointed out was that the is200 has a spring which pushes the stick over in neutral, and so when you look down the exposed shaft once the OEM stick is removed, you don't get 100% of where the nylon cup/ball should sit, only about 60%. If the spring can be pushed over from beneth the car it should line the parts up, and that will hopefully be the next thing I try.

Actually I'm glad we tried it at the Ace because now I know it just wasn't me being kack handed as to why it wouldn't just drop in. Also I was getting pushed for time that day as I needed to get to work, otherwise I'm sure Terry/Niraj/Ed would have carried on.
