N2KHL I tried the n97 mini but really it fell short of what i was after Ive sent it back and now want the htc hero which my gf has and gives you a much closer iphone experiance !
I don't know what the N97 mini is, but I have recently tried an N97 which was very slow and nowhere near what Android is like - I think you're right, if you want something iPhone like android is definitely the closest at present. I think the Pre is decent as well, but it's just as expensive as the iPhone while being a bit slow and doesn't have the range of apps that android has.
Have you looked at the motorola one too (dext I think)? Haven't had a play with one yet, just played with a dummy and I liked the size and the way it felt, plus the slide out keyboard is something I definitely want in my next phone

To be honest Ive never rated motorlola phones so im gonna give that one a miss...but Ive heard that they are releasing a killer phone out in the states real soon called droid...another android phone...but I need to do my upgrade rite now as im out of contract!

Yeah I think the droid is the handset that is quietly being tipped to really take android to the iPhone........I think it's going to be the first android 2.0 handset too.......
The dext is probably worth looking at though, in terms of hardware motorola have always been pretty good - it was the OS that killed them, but with android onboard they now don't have that problem (as long as they haven't messed it up with all the facebook/twitter sync stuff)

N2KHL Ah just to let you know i got me the HTC hero and im loving it its almost as good as the iphone but a hell of a lot cheaper
Good stuff mate, from what I've heard the Hero is brilliant - does it have multitouch? (or am I confusing it with something else?)

How odd? I assume that's because it's not integrated into Android yet, and the Hero must use a different browser?
I think Android 2.0 has multitouch though, so the Droid should have it.
