Martin i glad its working now for you but the light may still return.
It maybe worth looking for a replacement sensor so you can connect this properly.
Also if the light comes back on give the sensor a good clean.

I've just taken the tape off and given it a squirt of WD and a good clean, seems to be okay at the mo and after a quick blast its staying connected.

JapParts are selling a MAF sensor for £46 on ebay so I'll keep an eye on it and if needs be I'll have to put my hand in my pocket.
