Ok, I know car insurance prices have risen...
over the past year, but I have just been quoted £34k (£34000 not £3400) by an insurance company through moneysupermarket.com!!!
I drive a 9 year old/132k IS200 (standard) which is probably worth about 2.5k! Glad I don't drive a highly modified car!
I have 7 years NCB (protected), 1 claim (windscreen), 0 convictions/points, and I live in a medium risk area.
Luckily, I have found another insurer who will cover me for £405 for the year.
Don't.... Mine is due on the 24th, shopping round now for prices...............
My only advice to you is avoid moneysupermarket.com
On hold with A-Flux, at the moment, Sky came back with £575 as a renewal, so high but not that bad considering what I drive.
try http://www.emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk they gave me a quote of about £350 when i got bored and did a few quotes this was last year tho
Mine went up £70 just because i'm not working at the moment? Why when the car sits outside the house more than it ever has? only done approx 300 miles in the last 2 months :Chair: I'm now classed as a house husband by insurers, so that costs me more because the cars not being used :Chair::Chair:

is300_dino the insurers probably see it as that because someones sat at home getting depressed they could have a few beers get bored and go out in their car to relieve bordem therefore becoming a risk maybe?? or you run out of milk for a cuppa and thrash it down to tesco trying to beat the kettle before it boils, could be for any number of reasons? or the more likely excuse is that cos someones not using the car as often they then suddenly forget how to control a car and forget all knowledge of the highway code?
