There are companies on the net that will make plates up for you much cheaper than £40

Yh bought my plate for 250, all included, and got plates made for 15 quid ! 40 is a bit steep !

Now its on certificate for 3 years which cost me 120 i think, but from what I read, when I want to transfer it to a car, I wont have to pay the assignment fee.

What certificate is it on that it costs you £120?

I thought the £80 was for the transfer?

If you take your plate off you have to put it onto a retainer certificate. 1 year is £105, and three years is £155.

If you don't have it on a retention cert you loose the right to use the number plate.

The £80 transfer fee is included in the retention cert. price.

The retention certificate, which you got to have if you decide not to put it on a car, this on gov website:

Quote:the fee to retain - £105 for one year, £130 for two years or £155 for three years

which i believe includes the 80 the next time you decide to assign it to another car

so the retainer is only for the private plate?

The original cars plate doesnt need a retainer?

If i ever swapped vehicles it would be done within a month
