Got a few shots of the head unit in action for those who are interested...

How it sits in the dash - I have got the surround for it now but it looks like I might have to move it even further forwards for that to fit (or trim the dash a bit).

Standby mode - you can copy your own background images on, native res is 480x234@256 colours

Satnav - note this is not a map to my house Wink

looking tidy John Smile, how accurate have you found the readings in comparison?

Um... hit and miss. The temp probe I've got says 'L temp' on the wire harness (they do L temp for intakes, coolant, etc and H temp for EGT etc) yet the probe looks like the EGT one that Anees was selling. Which would explain why it reads the temperature wrong.

It took a bit of setting up to get all the figures right (you have to tell it how big the injectors are, what multiplier the speedo pulse runs on etc) but the rest of it is accurate, revs with in 50rpm, speedo as close as I can work out in my head (CAMP is in KPH). Boost is spot on, i.e. 1psi higher than my omori gauge which needs the needle ripping off it and resetting (it reads slight -ve pressure when the engine is off...)

Unfortunately there are no english manuals for the CAMPv1 as far as I can find so I don't really know if I've got all the variables set right...

Wow what a ridiculous day.

I had plenty of good intentions today, got the day off work, set my alarm early... Left home about 11 (was at work til 3am so that's quite early!), went to Halfords, B&Q and Motorserv... got to my mum's place about 1pm (this is where the garage with all my tools etc is). Then I realised that my GRP kit was in the cupboard under my stairs, 25 miles away. An hour or so later I started taking my front bumper off, which was a lot easier than I remembered. My bumper seems to only have about 1/3rd of the mounting points the stock one has. I mounted the UKspec numberplate with nuts and bolts, and then covered the back of the nuts with fibreglass to make them captive. Now this was my first ever attempt at GRP, so I was pleasantly surprised when the first nut went perfectly. So much so that I forgot to remove the bolt from the 2nd nut before the resin set and then had to cut it out (cut new fibreglass away and then use hacksaw blade to cut through bolt because aperture is too small to get hacksaw in = half an hour). Then I did exactly the same thing again the 2nd time. 3rd time lucky, I hope. It all seems to be OK! Got the bumper back on the car and started washing it about 5 and had finished autoglyming the glass and the wheels via a gooseneck lamp on an extension lead about half an hour ago!

I also knackered the UK numberplate mount in the process (not too fussed as it was free). Now in order to be legal and all for the Ace Cafe meet tomorrow I am rocking a square import plate on a regtangular uk plate mount. It looks odd, and is a bit wonkey, but it will do for now.

Car is now booked into Rogue Motorsport for them to look at my squidgy brake pedal. It's been wrong for nearly 2 years and I nearly wiped out a roundabout last weekend so time to get it looked at I think!

Huh well that was fun. CV bolt came out pulling onto the A5 at around 70. BANGclackclackclackclackclackclack...

1 broken CV washer, missing bolt and bent CV dirt shield later (and 40 minutes by the side of the A5 crawling around under the car) I have got the car back to my work Sad

My passenger was not impressed lol
