Wheel arch liner rubbing
Wheel arch liner rubbing
I just worked out today what the strange noise was that I sometimes get when manoeuvering my car out of its parking space.
It's the nearside front wheel rubbing on part of the wheel arch liner when it's on full lock.
Does anyone else get problems with this ? I'm wondering how to sort it. Perhaps I can take the arch liner off and bend it a bit ? In the worst case I suppose I could cut it, but that seems a bit drastic. The bit it's rubbing on is sticking out slightly, e.g. I can prod it with my finger and it pushes in (but then pops right out again).
It's only a problem on full lock so it's not exactly the biggest problem in the world.
Mmm, yes, that's a good idea.
Yeap i get this too, not too bothered though, dont do donuts all day:w00t::w00t::laugh:

Yep I remember others doing that after fitting bigger alloys, use a heat gun and then just push it back away from the wheel.
Strange that you're getting the rubbing with the TTE wheels though - does the arch liner look like it's not fitted properly or like it's changed shape?
It's probably connected with being lowered. Perhaps also with taking the wheel arch liner off and back on to do the front lip (and then the bumper etc with the turbo install).
There was a noise there before I had the turbo installed, but I think it's got worse since that was done (where the ride height has changed too).
Stop bolt ? :confused1:
