Photographs of rear Rear shoes & handbrake cable
Has anyone got a photograph, or exploded view of the Rear brake shoes inside the wheel drum (if thats the correct term to use). I am looking for one which shows the handbrake cable inside the drum , and in particular how it sits against the back plate,
Thanks:thumbup1:
not got a pic but the cable is held on to the backing plate with a 10mm bolt....ie if your replacing the cable you cant go wrong

Anyone heard of Solid Auto Parts (Solid Ace) . Motor Parts Direct (Norwich) re offering a set of rear brake discs with the pads FOC for £75....

I tried Googling but couldn't find a great deal. Seems like "Solid Ace" is the name for their brakes ?
Sounds like they're a motor factors parts supplier. I imagine they are as good as any other unnamed brake parts that you could pick up off eBay or similar (though I'm just guessing here, based on the fact that they seem to have been going for some time).
At least if you are buying them from a local place to you then you've got some comeback if you have problems.
They are affiliated with Blueprint....if that means anything. Spoke with someone at the SolidAuto depot on the fone. He informed me that much of their stuff is of good quality and comes straight from Japan, Anyway I have bought the rear discs (pads FOC), so I will let you know as to how things go when I fit them at the weekend.
Found this link to Solid Ace on Ebay. The Lexus pads are in the same type of box. Whilst they may not be the best quality I would assume them to still be good. At least I have good stopping quality on the front : Original Discs and pads lol
