The fuel filter is in the fuel tank. I don't think Lexus normally do anything with it. I don't think the fuel filter is normally replaced in their service schedule either, in this country, because our petrol is normally very clean (unlike in some countries).

To clean the K&N filter you can give it a bit of a brush-off/vacuum - but make sure you are sucking the dirty stuff out of the side where it has gathered, not pulling it all the way through the filter. For a proper clean you can buy proper K&N recharging kits from eBay - it gives you some cleaning stuff to spray on, then you wash the filter off and leave it to try. Then you re-oil it using the oil from the kit.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Marsdendean you get a servicing kit for them, but i forgot you was running a k&n filter!! My Leon was running like rubbish until i changed the filter

Only thing is when my air filter was causing me trouble I had no power across the range and more at the top end.

Seeing as this is intermittent and very on-off in nature, coupled with the idling problems make me think it might be something else?

Yeah I would have thought if it was a fuel blockage or a filter blockage you'd get problems across the range, not very specifically like you're describing. No harm in checking the filter though - you never know, if you clean it a bit it might help the old fuel economy !

Yep I'll give it a clean but I'll have to get the car booked in - still haven't sorted the business with the hubs so hope it's not another expensive repair on the cards........

My mpg is actually pretty good now, I'm averaging 25mpg and I've had it as high as 28 which I'm really pleased with in this car around London

According to my invoices they were replaced in Aug 2008 when I had the cambelt service done.

I'm not sure what a coil pack is but is it expensive?

Plugs should be ok then mate unless you have done a million miles since then, the coil packs basically what sits over the plug like the old ht leads you get on older cars, there's one on ebay for £15 at the moment so not too expensive it's finding out which one of the 6 is at fault, but I wouldn't worry mate i'm usually way off on stuff like this.
