Is there one on the IS200 ?

My car always ticks over at 500rpm when hot
1990 Eunos Roadster in Mariner DU blue
Cobalt cat back, Decat pipe, 15in Red Rota GT3 alloys, Toyo tyres, Lowered on Coil overs, Red anti roll bars, 14degree timing mod, white dash kit, illuminated side marker lights,
Halo ring headlights, OEM windblocker, Bluetooth streaming HU, Blue leather handbrake and gear lever gaitor, Centre brake/tail light mod, Blue velour door cards, Polished cam cover, Polished front strut bar, 4xheadrest speakers, JDM floor mats, Suede semi dish steering wheel,
not 100% sure steve, I will look at the throttle body, there must be as wot controls the idle up??

Only 500rpm idle ? That sounds low to me. The online manual says 650rpm +- 50

Partiban I'm having the same problem mate although mine has stalled a few times, same as yours it happens when coming to a stop. Im hoping it's a case of the air filter being dirty, bought a k&n filter cleaning kit a few weeks ago, will let you know how it runs once I've cleaned it

Wonder if the TPS needs a bit of adjustment? have heard/read in the past that people have had this type of problem and have either replaced the Throttle position sensor or adjusted it to improve the idle speed?

@Shahz: Yep that sounds pretty similar, do you have the same problem of it not having power for a bit on acceleration as well?

I hadn't actually noticed the low idle speed until yesterday when the car felt like it was about to stall, but could that be the cause of the power problems as well? Or am I looking at two different problems?

01-04-2017, 11:54 PM #28Difficult to say really. It could be the same thing causing both problems, or two unrelated things. If they both started happening at the same time, they're a lot more likely to be related.

Chris is that something that would have been touched /adjusted following the cambelt replacement as ive always felt the idle speed was a little low following the 60k service.......also k&n filter was put in......just wondering when did you install your k&n Parth and when did you clean it last??

Not sure if lexus adjust it/check at a service guys, but it can be adjusted to lift/lower the idle speed?
