Lexus IS200 Brake Pad Clip
Lexus IS200 Brake Pad Clip
Hi guys, i took my front pads out yesrerday to give them a clean and put coppersilp on them as they were making that clunking noise AGAIN. When i took the inside pad out i noticed the little clip that holds the pad into the caliper was actually attached to the pad with what looks like a kind of pot rivet. Is this the way its suppose to be ? I thought the clips should go into the caliper ?

Bump ad:
So Gord, when you buy new pads, they come with the clip attached ?
Thanks mate.
sorry tommy ive been very busy with hospitals havent fogot that spring, the clips u need too be checking are the ones that the pads go into , theres 1 top and bottom with a little spring in them that hold the pad tight in the caliper mate, (will post the other promise)
No probs Dave, i know youv'e had other things to deal with mate, just when you can manage.
As for the top clip, it looks like thats missing also ad: Wonder if these can be bought seperately or you have to buy the whole set ?
Now that's weird. I've seen these on some pads when I've replaced them, maybe the wife's or daughter's Yaris I think but when I had my brakes apart the other week to paint the callipers there's wasn't any of these on the pads. The pads had Toyota stamped on them
Thanks Dave, im defo missing one top (RH side looking at pic) clip and i dont have the shims with the slots cut out, i have the other solid ones.
