does the '2 engine bay suffer from high heat due to how compact it is?

toxo Have also just bought a phenolic inlet manifold gasket. This acts as a heat insulator between the head and the inlet manifold, preventing heat transfer. This in turn means the inlet manifold and throttlebody should stay cool and not heat up the inlet charge as it travels through.

2tongues Heard only good things about them from various forums:thumbup1:
After all this work it will be interesting to see another dyno run. Just to see what a very good service does.

Split the turbo apart today to find more blown gaskets.
All the exhaust path, downpipe, midpipe, manifold and turbo:
This gasket is mangled, you can see the hole around the bottom left stud, and it's broken at the top about 1/3rd of the way across. You can see the split gasket and black soot around it.
Took the actuator and the exhaust housing off. The advice I got for separating the 2 parts was using chisels... it took 5!!
Close up of the ceramic exhaust wheel
Close up of the exhaust housing
Big circlip off, compressor housing off
Bob found chips in 2 of the compressor blades and some rubbing on the exhaust wheel, so that's new shaft & compressor wheel (they are one piece on these turbos) but the exhaust wheel should balance out. Off to universal turbos for balancing now... and definitely not back for JAE.
Gutted mate.
Does hat mean you can give me a hand with the Dash and swapping the clocks over next week??
