70mph scratching sound
70mph scratching sound
I've just started driving the card today, all sounds and feels great with the card until I'm on the motorway and hit 70mph there is an intermitant scratching sound coming from the front passenger side wheel area.
Is that the brake indicator? Because if it is, I find it odd that in only starts at exactly 70mph and when I ease of the accelerator it goes off.
the IS doesnt have brake indicators so scrub that idea.
Cheers guys, I'll have a good look at that this evening. When I got to work earlier I nipped to the Toyota dealer across the road from us, they checked the brakes and could see the fronts had just recently been done so glad this doesn't sound like an expensive fix
Well guys, your your diagnosis was pretty much bang on. I'm missing a screw from one of the plastice protective covers, directly under the passenger seat.
Anyone got a clue how big the bolt is or where I can order one from? I literally have no time to go looking for an IS in a scrapyard.
I've had a look and can't find a diagram I can put a link on. I'll get it jacked up and take a picture when it's light and I'm not dressed up for work.
I had cable ties on the undertray on the Celica so if I can get that done on the Lexus then happy days! Cheers Toxo
Took it to a garage round the corner from work, for a £5 note he got it on the ramp and tie wrapped anything that looked like it needed it.
And got a quote for £120 to fit the lowering springs and shocks. He's got a nice clean garage, had a couple of decent cars he was working on in there, think I'm quite happy with that quote.
Just need the Exhaust to be delivered and he can do that all in one go too and I won't have to take the day off work either!
£120 for changing 4 shocks?
Are you buying the full shocks and springs or just lowering springs?
