I was thinking to fit an S2000 starter button in the position of the lighter. Something like that:

Has anyone done something similar? Do I also need to get an s2000 starter motor or can I use the IS200 motor?

I DID, but that ones not mine, thats a proper S200 one.

Not you dont need to change the starter motor or anything like that.

yes you still need to turn the key to position two, then press the button.

its pretty simple. get the switch, and a normal car relay.

go from a 12v to the switch, then to the relay coil, then to earth.
then you need to get under the steering column and attach to the white wire with red stripe on one side and the black wire with white stripe on the other.

so when you press the button, the relay closes and joins the starter to the 12v supply, starts the car, then let go of the switch, the relay opens and the starter motor stops.

REMEMBER though the wires going to the starter motor and power need to be at least as thick as the wires your joining to as theres quite a current pulled.
The one to the switch doesnt have to be that thick.

heres the wiring diagram:

hope this is understandable

There's some thing in the paper today about a gear knob with a buit in starter button comes with the wiring and everything, it's called the Type VR Push Start Gear Knob and is £39.99, page 43 of the daily Star, if you get that in Greece otherwise Google.

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

That is nice, there's also a Toyota starter button if you want to keep your cig lighter Smile

That gearknob sounds cool too, like the Mercs that have keyless go

I don't see the point myself as you still have to turn the key i'd rather have the remote start like Chris has in his Skyline but each to their own.
