Problems with heating on my laptop, I posted a while back that my laptop was overheating but this was caused by blocking the vents on my bed and nearly setting fire to my duvet !

Well the problem is whilst I am playing modern warfare 2 the graphics temprature reaches 115 degrees celcius according to my temp chart

now i use the laptop on my lap but with a piece of wood underneath, so a flat surface, i also elivate it towards the back end by placing a remote control underneath to create a gap between the wood and vents.

but my laptop still goes blank i assume due to heat.

I opened it up, cleaned all the dust out of the cooling parts (alot of dust was there) applied new thermal paste to the graphics and compound to other parts as well including CPU.

nearly given up now and thinking of buying of those cooling pads? anyone have any advice or recommendations?

sorry long post !

Marsdendean Cant you stick a fan next to it or get extra "vents" like you can with a pc?

Get a pc, there miles better for gaming, and if you have the money, go for water cooling insted of fans!

i was thinking this !

Yh i was going to build a pc, as cooling can be upgraded and was hoping to do it at the start of this month and finish it by end of december but finances stopped me, so stuck to the laptop

the laptop is built for games, with a HD 3470 512mb graphics card, 4gb ram, 2ghz dual core

With those specs I would have guessed the cooling system was good enough? unless something has failed, maybe replacing the cooling system with one o nebay may wokr?

Its just peaked at 121 degrees celcius ! this is going to fry my laptop

fortunally my HD is at the other end of my laptop and is only staying at 50 degrees which is about right, so wont fry my HD

Im at rank 30 on multiplayer on MW2 and want to go further

problem fixed, buy buying this from pc world:

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/p...egory_oid=

just played a 20 min match on Modern Warfare 2, and it peaked at 98 degrees celcius, compared to the 121 before getting this, much more better, plus the laptop you can actually touch it without getting burnt !
