went in to work (yes mole sometimes i do work:laugh went for the next job on the rack an oil leak on a 2.2 rav 4 07 plate!!traced the oil leak to the oil feed union for the turbo!!!!and the timing chain cover(toyota no longer use belts) well heres a few pics on what you have to remove to repair the leaks hock:!! if it was out of warranty you'd be looking around £1700 worth of labour!!hock: approx 17 hours to repair.

the timing case which was at fault.
timing casing removed for the clean up and reseal.
all done will be putting the engine back in tomorrow.:thumbup:

That is a big job, and a higher hourly rate than I would have expected - what's the Lexus rate then? (Need to check my old invoices, I can't remember it being so high!)

Didn't the Saab 9-5 Areo have to have the engine out to do the timing cover also?
A hell of a lot of work though for a small repair.
back in and running sweet as a nut and the best bit oil leak gone!!woop woop
if you have an older car say 4 years or older the hourly rate is £78 inc vat
ps the 2.2 avensis is the same!!
