We have some Cisco gear here that's proper Cisco that works great. And we have some that's rebadged Linksys which is sh*t. The routers (WAG160N) overheat and the wireless or ADSL connection drops out (sometimes both).

I'd also steer clear of TP Link. Their products seem to work fine, but the support is terrible!

I just installed a TP Link PCI wireless card, the drivers supplied haven't been updated since 2010 and caused by computer to hang on shutdown untill it would eventually BSOD after a while.

I ended up getting a guy on my computer forum to 'modify' some more recent Atheros drivers (who do the drivers for the wireless card anyway, just under the TP Link name) and now it works perfectly.

To be honest, 90% of all wifi and all recent homeplug stuff is made by Atheros. The linksys and netgear routers use atheros mini-pci wireless cards. At least TP Link stuff has a 3 year warranty...

I swear by Draytek any day. Really well built, and really feature rich!

I have a Vigor 2710n at home, and use the 2830 in the office.

No more than a decent Netgear, the RRP on a 2710n is £119, but I pay a **** sight less Wink
