Wireless on Old PC..
Yep I'd second argos, their return policy is great
I meant the USB. As im guessing some only allow certain amount of data through. So if i was receiving 20mb/s, the USB might only allow 13 or something. Never used one before so was just checking
Well the theoretical limit of USB2 is 480mbit/sec so I don't think you're going to have a problem there. Most USB devices are limited by the speed of your CPU (they do a lot in the driver that should really be done in hardware, to save money) but I really don't think you'll have an issue.
You will be rate limited in university halls anyway! We limit everyone to 10mbit/sec here.
Sounds good. Shall pick up a good, well known brand the week before I go, and check to see if I can get it working.
Although PC is only a 2.0ghz Athlon 64+ 3000. With 2.5gb ram, with Win 7 :O. So hopefully shall work
Toxo's already answered this, but yep no real loss - I had 54Mb network speed but with a 10Mb internet connection, so that was always the limiting factor anyway.
It'll be a shame if you are limited, remember when I was at uni late at night you had the full uni of london bandwidth at your disposal!
