Worth trying Chris Knott, they have been the only ones in the last few years who have been able to better Admiral for me (it was only a few pounds cheaper so didn't bother switching) but on your more modifed car there might be a bigger difference.
Btw, as long as you don't make changes too often they will often waive the amendment fee if you ask nicely - I've done it twice now and both times was never charged :biggrin:

I'm always in two minds about immediately declaring mods. When I first started modding the Lex I'd call up the insurance co the next day to let them know. But after being stung by their amendment fee's I've started leaving it until I've got 2,3,4 mods that need declaring before I call them
