My IS200 recently passed its MOT' with a couple of advisories:

I was advised that the bush had a fair amount of play, and would require replacement. Lexus do not sell the bush alone and as such I have had to purchase the suspension arm.

How easy is it to change the arm? Has anyone completed this task?

I have taken them off before but never replaced. It won't be that hard, you will need some big sockets, 14,17,19mm 1/2" drive, a breaker bar and some WD40/Plusgas. Soak the nuts and bolts overnight before attempting removal if you can. You'll want a wheel alignment afterwards too.

I was wondering if I could fit them without a pit or ramp, etc. In other words sitting on the floor of my garage with thew car jacked up?

Oh yeah no problem. You might need to get clever and use a jack to jack up the suspension strut while the car's up in the air but it's all doable - you have loads of room once you've got the wheel and brake disc off.

You'll need a balljoint splitter too - you can unbolt the balljoint from the bottom of the hub but you'll still need to remove it from the arm to transfer it. You can probably get away with a forked one from Halfords, they aren't expensive.

You'd be surprised what you can can achieve without ramps or a pit.

Though it should go without saying that Axle Stands are essential EVERY time you jack your car off the floor. Smile

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:
