Quick question...has anybody fitted any? I'm wondering whether to update the look of my is by adding some. Seen the angel eye conversions, but was wondering if peeps have tried other alternates. I.e convert front fog, or mounted led strips...

There was a phase a couple of years back where a lot of people were fitting LED strips above the headlights. This phase seems to mostly have passed. Rabster had some recently, but I believe the new owner of the car has/plans to remove them.

One important thing to note when fitted LED strips, it to have the correct protection (a fuse and a diode, I think) as there is at least one instance of them catching fire! Properly fitted, this should not be possible though.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

You may find these links in some way helpful:

Eyebrow fitting guide

Eye Brows or Angel Eyes
(A thread I started a few years back.)

That guide above states a quick blow fuse, but I knew a diode was a good extra precaution too:

DJ Wozza I would suggest a quick blow fuse and a diode to stop any feedback current if a single LED fails in the strip

This is what I (and some other Outlaw Jap Club members) have been using for electrical safety.

Maplins
Diode - QL73Q
Fuse holder 20mm- PC78K
Fuse quick blow 20mm, 500mA - GJ85G

Obviously it is up to you if you want to use any of these components, and only do so if you are competent @ electrics. The diode is for stopping any feedback currents, and I have been told by an electrical engineer that is is a good move incase of strip failure (one LOC members set caught fire but may have being wired incorrectly).
