I'm keeping track of all the costs on a spreadsheet. Not sure if that was a good idea really due to it reminding me of how much it's all costing

Its actually a really good idea as it gives you a rough idea of how much more it will cost and where you have spent money. It will help you keep on top of things and see how far your initial budget will get you!

Plus other members can see how much a similar conversion will cost them.

I have a spreadsheet and all the reciepts from my buggy build, however its sort of a requirement for the IVA test that i need the reciepts to prove where stuff has come from.

Thanks Jason, yeah I've put down the exact cost of all the bits that I've bought so far (which is quite a lot of bits !) in the spreadsheet. I've divided into two sections, the core parts that I absolutely need for the conversion (e.g. the turbo), and "optional" bits that help to make things better (e.g. new clutch and flywheel, which I don't think I strictly need to replace but I want to get rid of my juddering clutch anyway). So that will show what's the sort of minimum spend on this, and what parts are optional. I think I'll have a problem when it comes to splitting out the labour costs for those core/optional parts though.

dan_harris sorry if it's been mentioned but i what turbo are you going to be using steve?

A Garrett GT2560R. Not the biggest turbo in the world, but it's the one used on the S14, I believe.
