N15_GTi Yeh, so far I have no complaints about the engine, running some good mods too and seems to handle it no problem. (Touch wood).

It is a sleeper that's for sure, surprises a lot of people! Power to weight is awesome!

I have known a couple of people who have put the SR20DE into a K11, and the SR20DET... Seeing a boosted Micra is quite amusing!

Yeah started seeing the same whilst doing my research and normally i would prolly do the same thing but the car is going to be my wife dayly driver and my toy so i've had to come up with an acceptable middle ground and the 4EFTE was it only cos i know first hand what its capable of when set to high boost in a Starlet GT with me in the passanger seat and a mate driving and the car was completely OEM to boot, and i am not a small person and i got taken for a spin in Johannesburg which is at 1500 meters altitude from sea level and this little thing felt like a... well like a IS200 really and that is impressive considering the size of engine so yeah thats my reason for the 4EFTE its so my wife wont feel overwhelmed with the power and still have enough to overtake on the motorway with confidence, but be a bit of boyish fun for me when i take a spin up to the local Tescos, and despite it being old and an opel i quite like the cute sportscar look of the opel tigra, besides i think the engine will make it a better car aswell :p

Sorry for my massive delay in replying!

They are certainly quick, much quicker than an IS200 in my opinion, apart from the forced induction ones! But maybe that is because mine has a few mods over a standard GT...

It is definately a good engine option for some cheap, reliable fun! I also get pretty good economy too... All round cheap fun. (In the Starlet application anyway).

The only thing I do miss is pure engine grunt, as it is only a small CC, you don't really get much grunt. Not like my previous SR20, but that is to be expected I guess. It is made up for by the sound of a turbo and a bit of chatter though Big Grin

Errrrrrmmmmmm, been away a very long time.... So Hi!! 😀

I still have the car and it is still going well!

Nothing massive to report to be honest, just tidied it up really... Resprayed the roof and pillars, filled the hole in the front bumper where there used to be a side exit exhaust and had that resprayed. Followed by a full machine polish and paint correction.

It's 20 years old, so it's still rough around the edges but not bad!

Only new mods are a relocated air filter with hard intake and poly engine mounts.

Other then that, just service type stuff and generally keeping it clean!

So here it is now:

See you all at JAE!

I love these little guys, and with the huge turbo conversions available for them the massive power they put out earns my respect.
