Your right the 4th wire is a switch for idle. The ecu will need it, hmm not sure how to tackle that one ill have to think.

2 map sensors? Where? I thought there was just one on the manifold, the other pipe goes to a vsv valve as part of the carbon canister setup.

aahhh its ok its because i had to engines one still connected to car lol yeah thought it was to do with idle **** it lol unless i just change the tps for a 4 wired one which will eliminate that problem

Yeah could you not fit the standard tps to the throttle? I'm sure I've a couple spare if you want to experiment?

I'd be interested in the aftermarket tps you have if your successful.

what is the problem if i dont connect my idle wire then in theory i will control the idle by the screw on the throttle body?? or is the ecu just going to do into failsafe mode?? i just cant get my head round this how has everyone else done this aaarrrrgggg!!!!!!!! lol

I don't know that's the problem, if it just messes with the idel, like you say that's fine. But if it fail safes it not sure what to do.
The only others i know are Dave and lexiis and I think their both on standalone

It won't like not having the IDL signal. I disconnected mine on the MR2 when I was mucking about with the GT4 ECU and it stalled at idle when warm. IDL is just a microswitch inside the TPS which switches on when the throttle plate is closed, so the ECU knows to open the idle control valve and that the engine has no load on it.

well after a lil research i need a 4.7kohm resistor on the the motor circuit which will make the ecu think that the motor is still connected so then that can come out i can then piggy back all the position sensors onto the new one on the throttle body in theory i can see this working but like you say as long as the idle signal missing does not chuck it into limp mode i should be ok

Just a thought, you could wire a microswitch to the throttle pedal or throttle body so when your at idle (off the pedal) it sends the right signal. Simples lol
