My new phone
My new phone
Retina display is very good, but I do prefer the slightly lower res but infinitely better in other areas S-AMOLED on mine - played videos on my SGS against a mate's IP4 and the difference wasn't even close........
Easy way to cover it
IP4 is the most user friendly easy peice of high end gadgetry to use, the layout is flawless, app market far superior to others
Android/Symbian/Windows is a little more complex but hardware wise, screen wise its a level playing field, handsets carrying these OS are varied some beautiful some ugly
the main difference is iphones are locked down immensely whereas the others arent
yes you can jailbrake an iphone, but than means running software on it the handset wasnt designed for, battery life goes furhter down the pan
That said i think WM7 is ready to blow everyone out the water, WM6 was aimed at business users and did business functions fine, this is aimed at social users and the like,
time will tell
I understand where you're coming from but I don't completely agree in comparison to Android (don't know enough about the others).
The iPhone layout isn't flawless - straight out of the box Android allows you to customise your home screens in any way you want, allowing you to have exactly what you need exactly where you want it.
Apps are exactly the same on android, what makes you say it is far superior? Just doesn't have the numbers yet but they're catching up fast - in any case the only apps that aren't available are the silly ones that there has been no need to create for android yet.
Unfortunately you sound a lot like someone who hasn't used a recent android device - I'm not saying there aren't any differences but both have positives and negatives and overall the two are much closer than many people seem to think.
Reminds me of the people back in the day who just automatically said that Nokia's had the best UI, when they had never even seen or used a SonyEricsson or Motorola one - having used them all the SE ones were always the most intuitive but just because people were used to the Nokia layout it somehow made it the best..........
because every iphone is identical on layout and usage,
you can take an iphone out the box fire it up and looka t the screen and think "hmm theres the youtube app, lets watch some videos"
its all there ready for you to use, no scrolling through menu's or daft little scroller bars,
honestly it is the easiest interface about ( and yes ive been playing with a mates android htc desire at work quite alot )
Nokia's old interface was by miles the easiest to use and how you can question it is beyond me?!?!?! ive ahd every type of phone going until i got the iphone,
nokia lost the way after the 3210 imho, they tried to get to slick and it didnt work, but prior to that my hamster could of used that OS
The app store is far superior because everyone is making apps for iphones and then 5 weeks later doing it for android
Iphone will always be market leaders in the app store, yes the software is locked down but its where the big cash is
and they are not exactly the same, ive tried searching for the sky+ remote record and its nothing like the iphones version, even the graphics for the apps is different and most of it looks like it was doing using 32bit colour technology?
Seriously, what's the pain in pressing the menu button and scrolling to the you tube app (or any app)? only 1 button and 1 slide!! Or if you want put it on the front of the screen then it is there right in front of you - direct access??? what's hard about that????? How is an Iphone easier - does it open the app for you by mind reading, whilst downloading exactly what you want on its poor quality screen, whilst dropping calls "because you dared to hold it in the wrong way"??
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Well you pretty much described it in your own post buddy
nothings wrong with scrolling through a menu, but the principle is jsut easier,
the new WM7 doesnt even require you to unlock the phone to check certain things, you just hold the screen and it tells you
its all about the discerning social type that want things now and not 5 seconds later
and i never mentioned anything about the screen or apple's flaws as its a bit non-comparative really every OS has its issues, their not perfeck after all
No I mentioned the IP4 screen, I thought it was "dull" compared with the desire.
seriously though 5 seconds later is something 99.999% of the country can live with I would have thought.
Have to say when i first got my iphone (mainly cos eberyone else had one so I thought they must be great), it was the beesknees for a week... as time went on and practical day to day life use occured, it's nothing like the hype ..I will be getting rid at the earliest convenience .. Parthiban and 2tongues are right ... imho (make the most of that, i dont do humble opinions often lol )
