as said in CB, i was close to getting an ip4 today, and had it been in stock it would have been a case of swipe the card and cya! however coming from a htc HD touch, witch i really loved apart from the lag, which is what led me to the iphone not even 3 months into contract/ownership....and even when i switched to the 3gs i still said the htc was the better phone, however that said it could be case of too late now, cause i now really like my iphone now....BUT!! the new htc HD7 is tempting me, and im kinda glad that i didnt get it today as my sister is getting one so will have a play on it, and see what its like.....but as sam says the IP is not (in anyway) a business users phone and if that was what i was getting it for the IP would not even be an option as far as im concerened and it would have to be a bb or htc

The galaxy s you fire up for the first time and you find apps on the homescreen including youtube,

you then get the option to delete that and put something else there, along with sortcuts to folders and settings, and all your apps, as well as Samsung and Andriod Widgets.

The IP4 as I know it, just has a scrollable screen with all your apps, no widgets?

The screen is much better then the IP4 i compared it to my brothers IP4 and even he admitted it is better, then try using a IP4 in direct sunlight and then a galaxy s, you will see the difference its stuff like that matters,

yes the apps are lacking, but whats the use of an app of when you tilt the phone is makes sounds like you drinking something?? you not going to use that everyday

IP4 does not come with software to use it as a access point, you can download apps which are not very good in my brothers opionion remeber he owns a IP4, where as the galaxy s you got the software right there. In my recent Pakistan trip, i connected to the internet on my mobile through the network and then connected my laptop to the mobile and used the net.

Live wallpapers, IP4 does support IP4 but to the point where it drains your battery as stated by my brother so he doesnt bother, Galaxy S supports it and it has miminum impact on battery as its standard stuff.

Swype, IP4 does not have it, if you dont know what it is check this out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwE-Dpm1TW4

the guy in the video looks like its his first time using once you used this feature a few times youll probally be able to write messages in seconds, it holds the guinness world record in typing a message

what else can i say, I am not here to say galaxy s is better then IP4 thats your own opionions, im just putting the case on why galaxy s, in my own opionon better

IP as a whole is seen as the best, cause it was first of its type but not anymore

and oh yh, my brother said the touch on the galaxy s is better then IP4

purplewitch Have to say when i first got my iphone (mainly cos eberyone else had one so I thought they must be great), it was the beesknees for a week... as time went on and practical day to day life use occured, it's nothing like the hype ..I will be getting rid at the earliest convenience .. Parthiban and 2tongues are right ... imho (make the most of that, i dont do humble opinions often lol )

Thanks Smile

To me the bit in bold perfectly sums up why so many have the iPhone - it is in some ways great, but it is not head and shoulders above everything else as many seem to believe.

And that's rubbish about Nokia, if you had never used anything and you picked both phones up, you'd figure out how to do stuff on an SE handset far quicker than you would with a Nokia - it had a very specific way of doing things that people only thought was easier because that was the one they knew! SE's menus were always far more intuitive - things were exactly where you would expect them to be logically.

The simple fact is that too many people with IP4s have played with my SGS and been shocked at how good it is (mainly because previously they had no clue what android was really about). Even Oli was happy to admit that there isn't the vast ocean between the 2 OSs as people seem to believe :tongue_smilie:

The thing about the apps tray is just nonsense surely? It's far easier and intuitive to only drop your essentials onto your home screen for quick and easy use, and then have everything else in an apps tray which is easily accessible and has everything in alphabetical order............

I agree what you say about the money being in iPhone apps - android users have too much sense to throw money at ridiculous apps

Gord will agree with me, the only people who ever say the iPhone 4 drops signal are the people who funnily enough, haven't got one!
I have even showed you dad that I have never lost signal.

My conclusion to this debate is, what ever phone you have chosen it is the best in your opinion, I can not see a problem with that as if we only had a choice of one handset then could you imagine how boring that would be. Everyone is different, we all like different things, so what ever phone you have, you have the best one available.
I like the colour Plat ice on the Lex, others prefer Aztec fire, its all down to the individual. NO SINGLE phone is better than the rest

Not true, I asked a friend of mine about that when he first got one and he showed me quite simply, just put his finger over that gap on the side of the phone, and instantly it dropped to zero reception.

Obviously there are ways round it, but it's still a screwup of epic proportions - and trying to get away with it by saying people were holding their phones wrong was an even bigger fail............ :Fish:
