Help, double din dose not fit in fascia
Help, double din dose not fit in fascia
So is that just an empty cage you're installing in that pic ? Difficult to tell since it's side-on.
well the only problem is getting the cage in the fascia , so there is not much more that can be sacrificed from the fascia , so the cage might have to get it
I still don't understand what you're doing. Is it an empty cage you're trying to install into that fascia adapter ? Or the head unit itself ?
steviewevie Just trying to think of what's going on there. Did the unit come with its own metal cage ? If so, then you shouldn't need to use that, the head unit should mount directly into the fascia adapter.

just the cage Steve, then fit the HU to the cage
going out just now for supper / dinner , but will be back on the case asap
It's difficult to tell without more pics. But the unit should screw to the sides of the plastic brackets, using the things to fill the holes at the side which you aren't showing in your pictures (with the screw holes in).
I suspect the problem is that you don't need that cage. Are there not screw mounting holes in the side of the head unit itself ? (not the cage)
The bits that I'm talking about are at the top right of the pieces on the floor in this pics, underneath the words "Added to frame", above the double-DIN adapter piece :
I'm with stevie on this, you shouldn't need to use the hu cage and just use the plastic brackets that come with the facia kit or even the original metal brackets to fix it in place, I can't really tell what's going on with the pics either, I think you may need to get yourself another facia surround mate as you've butchered that one!!
You DONT need the cage,
there should be some small threaded holes on the side of the stereo, you should use these to screw the stereo to the fascia (check the manual though for maximum length so it doesnt interfere with the internals)
