Excellent mate, glad your getting improvements.
Aaargh ! hooting:
The car was running nicely the other day after Ed tweaked the map to put some more fuelling after the ECU had been reset and so had to re-learn.
But yesterday I drove it a fair way and it was running way too rich ! It looked like the stock ECU had gone back to "normal", and hence the mapping changes were now putting in too much fuel.
Very annoying, since the change seemed to have happened pretty much overnight as the car stood in the street !
I'm going back to Fusion on Wednesday for the connections to be soldered anyway. What I will ask Ed about is perhaps having two maps loaded (you can switch between two maps on the e-Manage Ultimate), with one normal map (as before), and a second one with fuel added that I can switch to whenever my ECU gets reset (not something I can avoid, e.g. if the battery goes flat) ?
I'm pretty sure this issue is all down to the stock ECU "learning", and not the fault of the e-Manage.
Can the stock ECU not be removed completely from the engine management side of things, or is the E-manage not that clever to run it all on its own??? Seams to me you have to remove it to run properly.
Think you need a Unichip :p
toxo You have to maintain the stock ECU to keep the instrument cluster running (and any other multiplexed devices). the solution here is to lose the stock cluster... dunno if it affects aircon as well?

toxo That'd be sorted by replacing the instrument cluster though

The e-Manage Ultimate is a piggyback ECU so I'd have to swap that out for a standalone ECU, which would allow things to be controlled properly, allowing you to get rid of the electronic throttle and other interfering stuff. Sure you could get a different instrument cluster, but the whole thing would be a lot of work to get everything working properly, and I simply don't think it's worth it.
It's not like there's a big problem really, just me kind of testing things so see how close to "perfect" you can make such a conversion.
