Not done it personally, but when i had my wing replaced they told me that they were held on with double sided tape.

They also alluded that the tape used was some special space-age, super strong tape not available anywhere else, and that the only way to get the trim to stick back on properly would be to buy a whole new trim piece. Of course I think they were just trying to rip off my insurance co :p

Pat there recessed into the panels mate, so if your thinking of removing them, you'll have a lot of work to do to make them smooth? that's if that's what your thinking :lol:

As Bandit has said there is a groove, if you are thinking of not having the strips your be surprised how these help keep the car firmly on the road like your front splitter bumper

Marsdendean I was looking at removing them as the price of the strips are quite steep for what they are

Aye. One garage quoted me £90 for the really short little piece on the front wing. Comes pre-painted from Lexus tho

According to the workshop manual, you have to remove these bump strips using piano wire in a sawing motion to get them off.

As everyone has said they're stuck on, one of mine started to peel away and I was surprised at how easy it was to get the rest off - thought I'd need to use fishing line or something but a bit of heat and care and it gently peeled away with no fuss.

I still haven't cleaned off the remaining glue or stuck the new strip on though!
