I havent got any pics of when i was doing them but this is how:
1. Undo the screw behind the open/close handle with a posi drive and push cover backwards and out (behind the little flap use a flat head screw driver to pop, Cover can be tight)
2. Undo the screw in the botton of the door handle in the using posi drive
3. Remove tweeter cover (just pulls off)
4. Pop the window switch panel out and disconnect plugs (pop the back and slide backwards)
5. Then pull door card from the bottom all the poppers will extract and lift door card upwards
6. Disconnect light at the bottom of the door card
7. Remove the window seal that is connected to the door card (Has little tabs that are bent to hold in place
8. Then remove the material from the door card and this is then used as a template for the new material u would like to use (cut a little bigger than needed 10mm all round)
9. Use a industrial adhesive spray glue and stick the template to the original material leave to dry for 15 mins approx (This then gives the new look a full sponge feeling if u know what i mean lol)
10. Cut the handle hole into the 2 bits material glued together and trim edges so excactly the same size as orignal material
11. Use adhesive spray now on the door card being careful to to over spray and glue the material back in place leaving enough room so that u can push the edges of material back into the slots around the door card
12. Use a card to push edges down and it will be a snug fit (leave to dry for approx 15 mins)
13. Replace door cards window seal but try to ensure material is under the seal which makes life easier later on
14. Use card to tuck any excess under the window seal to ensure that the material has no loose areas
15. replace door card by pusy hard against the window with the door card and then sliding door card down ensuring that it slots onto the lip of the door
16. Reconnect light at the bottom of door card
17. Push door card to ensure door card clips engage
17. Replace door open/close handle cover and replace screw
18. Replace door bottom door handle screw
19. Replace tweeter cover (push back on)
20. Reconnect window switch paned and reconnect
As the job goes on it becomes easier and alot fast completed mine in 2 hours and looks oem!
Ill get pictures to try and help out 2day soz!
lol dave i would mate but ive decided to hold back and save for coilovers been doin some research and looks like dropping by 50mm could really batter oem struts and cut life of them quickly ppl saying 4-6 months post above shows how i did door cards mate ill get pics to help explain soon
Any questions on how i did just ask happy to help out or explain if ive not gone deep enough PICS WILL FOLLOW lol
Lovely car mate. Defo the best colour too!
I'm in the same possition as you, want my car lower, but really want coilovers rather then lowering springs. Keep your eyes pealed on Ebay, they do come up second hand every now and then. Look to pay about £280ish.
Right little update i fitted oil catch can to car today and 2morrow my parts are arriving so i can do my custom induction kit. Soon as ive done ill get some pictures posted for ppl to see and comment. One problem is where to mount the oil catch can but ppl will see where ive put it. Its a pain as its meant to mounted in a cool place for the oil to condense when hits the cold can but ive not quite succeeded with that lol but will do the job of not feeding it back into intake! Just got to decide where i want to breath it to outside me thinks!!!
Good old royal mail late delivering my parts so hopefully 2moz!!!
Got parts fitted will get pics up soon! A question though lol does any1 know where you can get the intake duct that feeds the airflow down behind the drivers head light? think ppl will know what im on about lol
My old IS200's registration number was X421 ODA where as yours is 423...both cars must have been supplied by the same dealer?
Got few more pics for ppl to have a look at got silicone hoses coming and stainless steel exhaust manifold on route pics will follow. Here are the pics of my induction kit fitted and blue conduit just need to get blue tape to finish the conduit
