Saw Mikey (BOOSST) today to get some bulbs off him. So first of all a big thanks to him for giving us two sets of bulbs (legal and illegal bulbs, illegal being flashing all the time, and legal being inertia so flashing under heavy braking, at the moment we have illegal ones with the legal bulbs in the glovebox) and for helping us fit and giving his opinion. Here's a short vid of the bulbs:

He also sold this to us, so we will be getting this fitted when we have a bit of free time

So thanks alot Mikey, done us some help tonight, and the plans for your MR2 sound quite interesting and exciting!

Presumably "flashing all the time" means they don't settle to solid red then?

Your very welcome guys...always glad to help out when I can.

Regards the legality of the flashing bulbs, technically any car that has a flashing light of any kind in the UK is illegal, unless, its an emergency vechile. The fact it settles after a couple of seconds still does not make it legal. However, in Germany, Belguim and a few other of our european pals, they are legal, but the Uk has not yet allowed these to be e marked.
