Hey, so I thought I would start a mini project thread for what I get up to with the car. I am the proud owner of Rabsters Lexus IS200 Turbo, you know, the one with all the tricks on it :w00t:

The other project thread is pretty epic as Andy was building the car up, but I need to look at putting my own touch on the car. I am hoping to keep the car reasonably "sleeper" as it is highly amusing seeing the saxo drivers faces when they try to pass you in your "standard" car.

I have a few small plans which will need running past Andy for approval

I was at a loose end the other day whilst waiting for my new battery to arrive, which was preventing me from driving the car. So I made a start at my first bit of fettling with the car. I removed the white rear quarter, and rear window stickers. I am all about stickers and have had them on all my previous cars, but the white was a bit bright so I am going to get some made up in grey. No pics yet as the car is dirty - and Andy will bitchslap me when I see him next :whistling:

So plans: -

As for the In car entertainment, I am going to upgrade the Centrafuse to the latest version and try to hook up the bluetooth and GPS etc. I am also look at a USB gadget which is sort of like the BMW I-drive, which makes life easier when skipping songs etc whilst moving. I am hoping to customise a spare coin-tray from Andy to house this.

I am looking at the rear window spoilers on eBay, they come painted for about £80. Has anyone got any experience with these in terms of fit and finish?

I also need to buy some wind deflectors from eBay US when I get some money.

I am in the early stages of photo shopping the wheels. I didnt like the wheels at first but Andy said they will grow on me. Any they did Smile but I will get some photoshops up soon with my thoughts.

When money allows I am also going to be changing the perspex panels in the boot install. reason being
A) as the side pieces are rather scratched
B) I dont want to sponsor JL Audio
C) Again, just to personalise it, and add a bit of JDM styling

I will look to clean up the block, fuel rails and alternator in the engine so it matches the rest of the bling. and after reading a thread on here by Spud - some form of engine cover would be cool but not sure how it would play with the turbo etc

Like I say, more ideas and pictures to follow when I get around to doing things. Watch this space

Matt.

Well to be honest, Rabster has covered most of the usual mods people do! Glad its gone to a good home, is Lisa allowed to drive it?

We had discussed several of the things you are planning before he decided to sell up. The tidying up of the perspex in the boot is a must, as it lets down a lovely install.

I reckon just keeping it clean and tidy will be all that car needs

As mentioned, most of the common mods were carried out long ago on that car!

If you want to mod it any more you are going to have to get original! Smile

Good luck with the car though. I am massively jealous!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

http://www.simplewebhosting.co.uk/e-comm...9&parent=0 is a lot cheaper but I dunno if you can assign the button / slider the same way you can with the other one as it's not what it's expressly designed for.

10 points to Toxo. That's the bad boy I'm looking to get. I missed one tonight on eBay for a smudge under £20 and it does the same stuff as the 3D connection one. I used to the the 3D connection stuff in my last job and it's really well built though.

Have no fear Rab the car will be cleaned over the weekend Smile as for club vinyls I'll let you know when I have decided, but it will most likely be a dark grey.

Oh, and when I have funds I am seriously looking into angel eyes, but iwill have to get some sprare headlights to practice on. Does anyone have some for sale?

Plus, by getting angels eyes I can do away with the LED eyebrows Smile hehe!

I found a wicked video for making angel eyes the other day. Made it look pretty easy.
